Nine months and fifteen days

I lived in Bristol for 288 days. Roughly a year. And today is my last day. When I first moved here, I had no idea I would fall in love with this city and its people. It was such an incredible experience.

First time I visited the Clifton Suspension Bridge. And I was blown away

This amazing city, in the south west coast of England shines by its eclecticism and its urban culture. It is the city of Banksy, the very eighties neon leggings, the bikes, the vintage tea houses and all kinds of festivals: jazz, rock, street art, boats and even balloons attracting every year almost 500 000 people.

Bristol has its own thriving nature and spirit. Like Clifton for instance, perched on the heights of the Avon River. That's where you can find the beautiful Victorian homes with flower gardens, antique shops, fashion boutiques and the Gothic cathedral.

Not to mention the multitude of green spaces that are everywhere around the city the city, a pretty harbourside, the renovated docks with their many bars, the contemporary art museum and the Watershed.

The city also takes its influences from Africa, Jamaica or India. You can eat a good curry while enjoying some jazz, blues and hip-hop, especially in small concert halls.

I feel in love with this city, I learned so much in nine months and that's knowledge that you can't get anywhere else. I discovered another way of life, different people (some good, some not really good). And I feel like I found my second home.

I was happy, sad, bitter, in awe, delighted, in love, eager, envious, fascinated, afraid, lonely, peaceful, satisfied... But most important, I was alive. So thank you Bristol. It has been great knowing you.
